I visited the Gangaramaya temple this morning and met with the High Priest The Most Venerable Galalaboda Gnanissara Thero who told me that although he was satisfied with Rajas condition, he was concerned about his forelegs which seems to have sustained some injuries when Raja fell.
Several leading veterinarians are treating the elephant.
I went with him to see Raja, and the picture shows the High Priest feeding Raja some biscuits which he readily ate.
