The website was initially founded by Srilal Miththapala as a personal web page to share his love for the gentle giants on Geocities way back in 1996. So we’ve essentially been online for 24 years, that’s right 24! The transformation since then has been phenomenal. Sri Lanka Elephant has now become an information and community hub for elephant enthusiasts from all over the world.
